Wood Partners Wants Piece of Symphony Center Site Project

Over the past several weeks, we have posted numerous articles about the proposed development on the former Symphony Center site located in Midtown. The development team composed of Ashkenzay and Olympia Heights Management have submitted plans for three high-rise residential towers on the site, which they paid more than $22 million for back in May. According to sources close to the project, Wood Partners is interested in potentially acquiring one of the tower sites for a high-ride condo project, although some doubt the ability to finance a condo project given Atlanta’s tumultuous history with them prior to the last recession. If Wood Partners did involve themselves with the 98 14th Street project, it would be Wood’s second major project in Atlanta right now; Wood Partners is in the midst of developing 33 Peachtree Place. Whether or not the Wood partnership comes to fruition, it will be at least 2015 before any phase of the development breaks ground.
