Update from February 4th post – Maybe Next Time…

We reported on February 4th that Dunwoody Mayor Mike Davis was pushing to turn the former Goldkist HQ into a huge, mixed-use development that would include shopping, dining, entertainment, and housing amenities. David proposed increasing the city’s hotel tax to 8% in order to pay for the 15 acres fronting I-285.

As of this month, Mayor Davis has come out to revise his current plans, stating that the city “can’t afford the entire site,” and that they “don’t need the entire site for the tennis opportunity [he] was looking at.” The future of the vacant 262,000 SF building is still up in the air.
