State Farm and developer KDC have broken ground on the new 2.2 million square foot campus in the Central Perimeter submarket. The first phase of construction will include a 550,000 SF office building that State Farm hopes to occupy by 2016. The later phases of the project will bring an additional 1.4 million SF of office and retail space to the parcel.
When asked about State Farm’s projects in the area since 2012, Dunwoody Mayor Mike Davis acted as if he wasn’t surprised in the least. He boasted that the “live, work, place” atmosphere that developers in Buckhead and Midtown are racing to create has always been available in Central Perimeter. In fact, there are more than 12,000 apartment units within walking or biking distance of the new campus. Mayor Davis said that this environment is what is going to attract companies to fill the holes State Farm will leave as their leases begin to expire in the next 4-10 years.Share
