South Leads Construction Recovery

construction I

While construction across the US has increased dramatically since the economic downturn in 2008, there’s no doubt that the South has blazed the trails when it comes to breaking ground on new projects. In this recovery period, the South has had more demand for new projects than any other region; the projects most popular in the South have been retail, warehouse/industrial, hospital, higher education, and lodging. There is a down side to the up side, however; as demand for new construction increases, so will the difficulty in finding skilled labor as well as the cost of materials.
