KSU Buys BrandsMart Site on Busbee Rd

It’s impossible to drive up I-75 without noticing the major expansion Kennesaw State University has undergone over the last five years. Now one of the state’s largest schools, KSU is looking to expand their facilities to accommodate the ever-growing number of students.  The school announced this week that they have purchased the former BrandsMart site less than one mile from the central campus. KSU will redevelop the site to serve as a new student health center, home of KSU’s new marching band and accompanying equipment, and additional lab space to serve the school Health and Physical Education departments. By purchasing the site, KSU now owns everything between their 88 acre Sports and Recreation Park and the KSU Center on Busbee Drive, totaling more than 120 acres. Land is more valuable to KSU now than ever before since the decision was made to merge KSU with nearby Southern Polytechnic State University.
