How Far It’s Come

In 2012, millionaire entrepreneur David Cummings purchased Ivy Place, the five story office building on the corner of Lenox and Peachtree Rds in the Buckhead submarket. He paid $12 million for the asset, which he planned to turn into a collaborative space geared towards tech companies and start-ups. He spent much of 2013 ousting current tenants and renovating the building floor by floor, adding features such a flexible walls (to allow for growth and contraction), open floor plans, and dozens of flat screens in the common areas; Cummings has spent a reported $20 million on those renovations. It seems as though his work (and money) are paying off. The re-branded “Atlanta Tech Village” has attracted more than 180 tenants so far. And Cummings isn’t done with the renovations yet – a rooftop deck and Octane coffee shop are still to come for Atlanta Tech Village.
