Former GoldKist Site Sold for Mixed-Use Project

Former Goldkist site

State Farm isn’t the only company with plans to change the Central Perimeter landscape in coming years. Crown Holdings Group purchased the former GoldKist HQ site, which is adjacent to the 17 acre parcel on which State Farm plans to build one Atlanta’s largest office developments ever. Not only is the former GoldKist site close to the State Farm action but is also located within close proximity to the Dunwoody MARTA station, further increasing the area’s ever-growing “walkability” factor.

The site is current zoned for 1.7 million square feet of commercial development, and owner Crown Holdings Group is not stranger to constructing mixed-use developments. Crown played a major role in developing Atlanta Station as well as Technology Park in Peachtree Corners. Crown might have a little competition in the development game, as GID Development Group owns 36 acres on Perimeter Center Parkway that could potentially add 400k SF of office space, 400k SF of retail space, and 3k multi-family units.
