A few weeks ago, the City of Sandy Springs began narrowing the list of development firms competing for the chance to lead the redevelopment of downtown Sandy Springs to just five firms.
This week they issued RPFs to those five firms, which include Batson-Cook/Pope & Land, North American Properties, John Weiland Homes, Carter/Selig Enterprises, and Seven Oaks/Orkin & Associates. The city hopes that responses shed light on the companies’ concepts and costs. Final proposals are due on March 28 and the city hopes to have reached an agreement by mid-summer.
The area the city hopes to redevelop is the 14-acre block bordered by Roswell Rd, Johnson Ferry Rd, Mt Vernon Highway, and Sandy Springs Circle. While specific details won’t be revealed until the city has chosen a development team, most speculate that this redevelopment project will include some sort of mixed-use space, a civic center, green space, and ample parking for all the new amenities.Share
