Emory healthcare has announced plans to spend $312 million to build a 9-story clinical tower across from the Emory University Hospital to accommodate the increased patients volumes they are seeing. The 9-story clinical tower will have 210 in-patient beds, operating rooms, imaging services, and a clinical laboratory. Emory declined to comment on how many jobs this investment could ultimately create, but based on industry average, a 200-bed hospital would employ approximately 1,000 people.
Construction is set to begin this coming July with the construction of the underground parking garage. The project is expected to be completed in 2017.Share
