Township, the final phase of the 500+ acre mixed-used development known as Deerfield, has finally been approved by Forsyth County. Deerfield, which sits at the corner of McGinnis Ferry and Strickland Roads just off of 400, is the creation of a joint venture between Seven Oaks Company and Orkin & Associates. These two companies want to develop more than 400 senior-living units, 560 multi-family apartment units, and 286 single-family homes. The development project will also include 250,000 SF of retail and commercial space.

Forsyth County, specifically along 400, has seen tremendous activity over the past few years. Most credit the area’s executive housing options and strong school systems for the growth we have been seeing. Front Door Communities plans to build 400+ homes on 158 acres in South Forsyth, North American properties has already broken ground on its Avalon mixed-use development, and Taubman Centers Inc. is planning an upscale mall in South Forsyth.
