Last year, Crocker Partners announced their plan to build two apartment towers where Piedmont Rd and GA 400 cross, next to the 18-story Prominence Tower. The company filed plans to rezone the 6.5 acre lot and construct one 26-story apartment tower and one 19-story apartment tower. The towers were expected to break ground sometime this year.
Despite their initial plans, Crocker Partners appears to be backing out of this particular apartment project. Most assume that this is due to the overwhelming amount of apartment construction taking place in Buckhead; Buckhead currently has more apartment units in the pipeline than any other submarket. Crocker Partners is more than likely putting these plans on hold as to not contribute to the overbuilding of this type of product and to ensure that if the project is completed that it will be economically viable.Share
