Commercial Construction Up 50%, Residential Up 58%

It has been reported that commercial construction figures this year are 50% higher than those this time last year. Almost $3 million of contracts have been awarded this year, whereas less than $2 million in contract were awarded through the same time period in 2012. It seems as though housing construction is improving as well, as residential construction contracts are up 58% from this time last year. About $3.46 billion in housing contracts have been awarded this year, compared to just $2.18 billion in 2012. Residential figures include both single- and multi-family housing.
