Buckhead Atlanta Opens to Public

After more than a half decade of planning, re-planning, and construction, Buckhead Atlanta has finally opened its doors to the public. The concept for the 1.5 million SF mixed-use development was originally announced in 2006 but took a backseat when the economy collapsed the following year. After five stagnant years, development firm OliverMcMillan took control of the project and rebranded the project from “Streets of Buckhead” to what we now know it as, “Buckhead Atlanta.” Once all phases of the project are complete, it is expected that about 800 people will be employed on-site and another 600 will live on-site in the residential component. The Buckhead Atlanta project has already started receiving accolades; it was awarded Project of the Year by the Atlanta District Council of the Urban Land Institute.
