Although the announcement was not a surprise after four of the five firms withdrew themselves from consideration, the Braves organization has selected the team led by Fuqua development to oversee the development of their new stadium and mixed-use project in Cobb County. The team is comprised of three firms – Fuqua Development, Pollack Shores Real Estate Group, and Pope & Land Enterprises. Fuqua will develop the retail portion, Pollack Shore will lead the office development effort, and Pope & Land will focus on the multi-family development.
The Braves hope that this development team will be able to produce a project that draws attention the 284 days of the year that the Braves aren’t playing. The team is drawing inspiration from similar projects around stadiums across the country, although this will surely be one of the largest projects of this nature ever developed. The Braves are looking to partner with entertainment firms like LiveNation and AEG to bring concerts and other popular events to the project in order to create revenue during the baseball offseason.
The Braves officially broke ground on the project a few weeks ago and hope to have all aspects of the development completed for the first pitch of 2017.Share
