After nearly 10 years of dormancy, multi-family development in the Downtown submarket has finally started to pick up. Midtown and Buckhead have thousands and thousands of units under construction and in the pipeline to break ground this year, but until now there has been limited activity Downtown. In the past few months, more than 800 units have been announced Downtown, 407 units of which come from a proposal recently submitted by Post Properties. Post hopes to develop the property on land bordered by Centennial Olympic Park, Bakers St, Williams St, and Simpson St. Reps from Post Properties say this new development will likely take after some of its other in-town projects, including Post Parkside and Baltimore Row.
Paces Properties just purchased 250 Piedmont, which it plans to convert into a 300 unit apartment tower. Legacy Property group recently announced that they would be adding 125 apartment units to the Homewood Suites downtown.Share
