Atlanta Loses HQ to Detroit

AkzoNobel, whose headquarters are currently located in Norcross, has made the decision to move its HQ facility to Detroit; the move is currently underway and is expected to be completed by the end of 1Q2015. When asked about their decision to move, company executive Doug Holmberg stated that AkzoNobel has a long history in Detroit and is currently operating several other businesses from Michigan. The company hopes that by consolidating operations and shrinking the distance between their facilities and offices could ultimately be financially beneficial. AkzoNobel lost $38.5 million in 2013 alone, sending them deep into the red.
