Infosys is revisiting Atlanta, and this time because the city is the target for its newest strategic hub. The India-based IT firm, which opened a business center in Atlanta in 2012, currently leases 30,000 SF in Cobb’s Wildwood Office Park and an additional 40,000 SF at Powers Ferry Landing office park. While company sources have not confirmed that amount of square footage they are looking to add to their space in Wildwood Office Park, they have stated that at least 200 new positions will be created.
Infosys is not the only company that’s targeted Atlanta as a major operations site; both GM and Ernst & Young LLP have confirmed plans to build global technology centers in Atlanta. Companies are drawn to Atlanta for many reasons, including low wages and cost of living, higher quality of life, lots of local talent (GA Tech, UGA, GA State), an abundance of opportunity zones and tax credit opportunities, and one of the more receptive markets in the Southeast.Share
