Every year Vocativ.com releases their “35 Best US Cities for People 35 and Under.” This list takes numerous things into account in order to determine which cities rank where; the list includes factors such as gas prices, average salary, number of single people, laundromats per capita, number of music venues, cost of rent, and so on.
Atlanta broke into the top 10 this year and landed at Number 7. Atlanta claimed Top 5 bids in a couple of categories as well, including average salary, number of laundromats, number of coffee shops, number of vintage clothing stores, cheap take out, and number of music venues. Vocativ.com said of Atlanta, “Cheap food, bear, utilities and rent, along with strong salaries ($73,000), make this Southern cultural a top contender in the livability index…. The largest city in Georgia is a decent place to land a date and an even better place to catch live music, with roughly 400 venues to choose from. With rent at $1,300 for a 2-bedroom and strong art and tech sectors, it’s worth giving Atlanta a hard look.”
The rest of the Top Ten looks like this:
- San Francisco
- Las Vegas
- 7. Atlanta
