The site undeveloped site off Peachtree Road next to the new MARTA pedestrian bridge and behind Maggiano’s, will be home to another Buckhead high-rise apartment tower. Novare Group, which has already completed SkyHouse Midtown and has begun work on 100 6th Street in Midtown, will build SkyHouse Buckhead on this parcel. This development will add to the 2,957 units already proposed for Buckhead and Brookhaven, 2,630 of which have already been started. Novare believes that this property is the ideal place for Gen Y workers, who want to live near transit and where they work.
Novare isn’t the only company targeting Buckhead for new developments, as many developers are targeting Buckhead and the Georgia 400 corridor. Plans for a 39 floor tower next to Phipps Plaza have been submitted as well as plans for 19-story apartment tower overlooking 400 near Phipps. The increase in development, while perhaps premature, is a result of increased rents and labor demand in and around the city.Share
