Another Game Changer for the Old Fourth Ward?

Atlanta civic Center

The redevelopment and rebranding of the former Sears warehouse and distribution center as Ponce City Market has been a breath of fresh air for the Old Fourth Ward area of Downtown. The city of Atlanta is hoping that other developers will be inspired by the project’s transformation and take a similar chance on the Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center. The city has turned the civic center over to Invest Atlanta, who will seek bids from interested developers. The city is looking to sell the asset because it’s no longer able to afford the cost of maintaining and updating the facility to keep it relevant. The 380k SF building sits on an 18 acre parcel where Piedmont Ave and Ralph McGill Blvd meet; this site could be the ideal location for office space for Atlanta’s growing film industry, multi-family housing, retail stores, or hotel accommodations.
