2014: Atlanta’s Biggest Year Since the Olympics


2014 is going to be a big year for Atlanta. In fact, there haven’t been as many large-scale projects underway or in the pipeline since the city was preparing for the 1996 Olympics games. Here’s a brief summary of the projects that are grabbing headlines this year:

  • Buckhead Atlanta – scheduled for a July 7th opening
  • Ponce City Market – scheduled for August opening
  • New Falcons Stadium – scheduled in break ground by 3Q2014
  • College Football Hall of Fame – scheduled for a Sept 1st opening
  • National Center for Civil and Human Rights – scheduled for May opening
  • Atlanta Streetcar – scheduled for opening by 3Q2014
  • The Beltline – improvements scheduled to begin this year on Eastside Trail Gateway, Edgweood Ave Bridge, and the Westside Trail.
  • 131 Ponce – scheduled for end-of-summer completion
  • Krog Street Market – scheduled for late July opening
